Executive Board


Justin Sung

Justin Sung is a senior at Appleton West High School and the current president of the Appleton Youth Education Initiative. At Appleton West, he participates in academic extracurriculars such as the Science Team, Math Team, and Mock Trial. As for athletic extracurriculars, he plays doubles tennis on the varsity team. Justin is also very involved as the principal oboist of the local Green Bay Youth Symphony and Lawrence Academy Wind Ensemble. He aspires to attend Yale University as an undergraduate student to major in Computer Science or Psychology, and then attend Yale Law School as a graduate student. His main focus this year is promoting STEM interest in the local area. Justin became involved with the AYEI as a sophomore contributing as a public-relations-liaison, and is now very excited to be able to help his fellow students better prepare for higher education.


Jessy Kong

Jessy Kong is a senior at Appleton West High School and has been a part of AYEI for three years now. She is the current vice-president of AYEI and also the vice-president of West’s student council. At school, Jessy is part of the tech crew for the theater program, a retired president of the Key Club, a member of the NHS, and a presenter for the International Club. Jessy enjoys ice skating and volunteering at the Hearthstone Museum in her free time. In college, she hopes to study biomedical engineering and minor in French.


Alex Long

Alex Long is currently a senior at Appleton West High School. He has been a part of the science and math teams at West for the past 3 years, and hopes to pursue a degree in medical science after graduation. Alex enjoys playing viola, and he has performed in the Fox Valley Youth Orchestra, as well as the Wisconsin State Honors Orchestra. He also participates in West’s chapter of the National Honor Society, and has volunteered his time performing at nursing homes, helping at Knowledge-a-thons, and chaperoning the JV Math Meet. Alex is also a 3rd degree black belt and instructor at Karate America Neenah, and has been taking karate for 10 years.


Colette Pollard

Colette Pollard is a senior at Appleton West High School. She enjoys several extracurricular activities including science team, math team, and public speaking. She has been recognized at the State and National level in Forensics and Debate. Colette also participates in Varsity Ice Hockey, Cross Country, and Track. In her free time she loves to play piano, and is the pianist for the Appleton West jazz band. She is passionate about genetics and hopes to pursue a related career. Colette is excited to be a part of AYEI to help advance educational opportunities in the Appleton community.


Shayde Erbrecht

Shayde Erbrecht is currently a Senior at Appleton West, and is seeking a career in finance from the University of Madison-Wisconsin. He is both the Public Relations Liaison and Secretary for AYEI, even though this is his first year. Shayde loves everything Lovecraft, and read four of his works in a single day. He hopes to make a lasting impression on AYEI and Appleton as a whole, giving opportunities to students in order to allow them to succeed.


Harrison Andropolis

Harrison Andropolis is a Junior at Appleton North High School. He has a strong interest in playing the cello, and has been playing for eight years. He plans to play the cello for the rest of his life, if not as his career. He plays his favorite Bach Cello Suites at nursing homes often, and makes it a priority to practice daily. He is also an active Life Scout, and has been a scout for 12 years. He is just a few months away from achieving his Eagle rank, the highest award in scouting. On top of this he has consistently kept up his grades, achieving a 4.0 every year and a class rank of 1. Though he would rather be practicing, he makes his schoolwork priority one. As far as a future career, Harrison hopes to contribute to the implementation and development of sustainable energy technologies.


Alex Fan

Alex Fan is a junior at Appleton North High School. As Chief of Staff of the Appleton Youth Education Initiative, he is responsible for a variety of critical functions in support of the president’s work and agenda. Most recently this past summer he interned at Torus Capital, a hedge fund based out of Manhattan. As a member of the debate and forensics teams in 2017 he qualified for both National Competitions. Alex is also an avid musician, currently serving as Concertmaster for the Appleton North High School Honors Symphony Orchestra and the Appleton North High School Honors Band. He is also the Principal Clarinet of the Fox Valley Youth Symphony Orchestra (FVYO). Alex trains as a fencer, swimmer, and tennis player.


Tracy Wang

Tracy Wang is a sophomore at Appleton North High School. In addition to being involved with AYEI, Tracy is a member of North’s student council and drama club; she is also apart of Appleton’s Student Leadership Program (SLP). From a musical perspective, Tracy plays the piano, violin, and viola. In her freshmen year, she participated in North’s pit orchestra for the school musical.


Forrest Bomann

Forrest Bomann is currently a junior at Appleton North High School. As a captain of the debate team, he seeks to actively engage in critical dialogue with others and to promote through informed discussion both scholarship and integrity. These values inform his engagement as an officer of the Red Cross Club, as vice president of Chinese-American Club, as the secretary of the Indian Student Association, and as a member of the Gender Equality, Stand Up, Computer Science, and Psychology clubs. Further, in his service as a member of the National Honor Society and the Democratic League at North, he engages with the broader community. Much of his free time is consumed in studying political science and practicing the French Horn, which he plays as first chair in the North Honors Band and Pit Orchestra, and as second chair in the Lawrence Wind Ensemble. Through his engagement in AYEI, Forrest hopes to help others realize their vast potential and achieve their academic aspirations.
