Executive Board Responsibilities

President

The President of the Appleton Youth Education Initiative is responsible for leading the organization and shaping its strategies. He or she is the liaison between the Executive and Advisory boards and is responsible for determining the agenda for each full board meeting. He is also responsible for organizing the secretarial notes to be sent to the full board after each full board meeting. The President will present information on the progress of projects and ideas for new projects. He will also help evaluate the success of projects. The President will preside over all Executive and Advisory board meetings.

Vice President

The Vice President advises the President and other members of the Executive Board on topics such as short and long-term goals, and all projects. The Vice President will help present information on the progress of projects at each meeting, and provide ideas for new projects to the Executive and Advisory Boards. The Vice President also investigates the success of projects.

Secretary

The Secretary advises the President and other members of the Executive Board on topics such as short and long-term goals, and all projects. The Secretary will help present information on the progress of projects at each meeting, and provide ideas for new projects to the Executive and Advisory Boards. The Secretary also investigates the success of projects. He or she also takes minutes during meetings and sends them within one business week to the President.

Treasurer

The Treasurer advises the President and other members of the Executive Board on topics such as short and long-term goals, and all projects. The Treasurer maintains the financial records for the AYEI. He or she keeps the Executive board updated on the status of the AYEI fund and other accounts. The Treasurer presents the financial record at each full board meeting on paper or electronic format. The Treasurer will also help present information on the progress of projects at each meeting, and will provide ideas for new projects to the Executive and Advisory Boards.

Public Relations Liaisons

Three public relations liaisons, one from each school, advise the President and other members of the Executive Board on topics such as the public awareness of short and long-term projects. They are required to meet with their respective school principals at least once after each AYEI meeting. They are in charge of coordinating the publicity of events with school officials and staff as well as keeping students informed of upcoming events and AYEI as a whole. They may also be required to attend officer meetings.
